Quite possibly the best eye shot I've ever seen. I'm guessing some Photoshop work to make the eyes appear they're on a face rather than on either side of the head like a reptile.

Can you really fire a gun while balancing on a Segway?

Apparently so since this is how in an anti-terrorism drill in Jinan, China ahead of the Beijing Olympic games.

Optical illusions are all over the web, but most are boring. One of my favorite animated optical illusions is below. Here's what you do:

1. Watch the purple dots on the outside. Nothing odd there, right?
2. Look in the center and peripherally look at the rotating purple dot. It's green!
3. Now stare hard at the center and eventually the dots will disappear.

The human brain is a funny thing, no?

This sort of thing has been circulating for a while, but this is a great example of how we can read words even when the order of the letters is mixed up.

Now here's a something you don't see everyday. Apparently, the Russian Army has its armored vehicles blessed by the Church. Am I the only one that thinks this is an odd thing for a peace-loving institution to do?

I came across this wonderful animated image that seems like a perfect metaphor for anything that is overly complicated.

I was recently vacationing on the Big Island of Hawaii and spent an hour or so in a submarine. Conditions for shutterbugs like me weren't great 100 feet under water, but I did manage to catch these two fish doing their best to entertain us.

There are a bunch of versions of this logo, but I like the one shown here the best. The green outer layer captures the idea of a green planet. But this layer is very thin compared the blackness within which represents the oil that spewed into the Gulf.

One day we may have all forgotten what BP did, but that day is not today...
